Senior Manager – Procurement
Job Purpose:
Assist the Director Procurement with the management and execution of the Procurement duties and functions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the department in the absence of the Director Procurement
- Manage the day to day operation of the team, including assignment of tasks and performance monitoring, vacation scheduling, issue resolution and conflict management
- Maintain and execute on departmental goals and objectives in an efficient and effective manner
- Creation, development and execution of quotations and RFPs to ensure the most competitive proposals are obtained
- Awareness of the marketplace, understanding the categories and the end users requirements and be able to fulfil those requirements
- Contribute positively to the bottom line of the organization
- Participate in Vendor Management and Supplier Relationship Management; ensuring suppliers adhere to top standards of performance
- Develop category strategies where necessary to minimize marketplace risks
- Mentor, train and develop the team
- Utilize reports in decision making
- Create, maintain and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Implement, drive and practice Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in all aspects and levels of Procurement
- Develop templates for normal operational use including but not limited to RFP templates, RFQ templates, bid analytic templates
- Continuously review processes and procedures for opportunities of improved efficiency
- Assist with the development and maintenance of departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide assistance, training and knowledge transference to both team members and end users on the system operations and functionality
Competencies and Requirements
:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ Procurement management experience
Knowledge/Certificates: APICS/ISM certifications an advantage
Education: Bachelor degree in Business, Procurement, Sourcing and Supply Management, or Hospitality Management
Language Abilities: Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese
Computer Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Stratton Warren software applications
